By using Thomaston Savings Bank’s online services, including but not limited to Internet Banking or requesting a loan application online, Thomaston Savings Bank will have access to your information. Communication via the Internet through E-mail, “Contact Us” page on our web site, your E-mail address and any responses to your communication will be retained. This allows us to retain an audit trail of our contact and provide you with the product or service information you may have requested.  If you use our loan application request form, this information will be retained and used to provide you with the products or services you have requested.

 

What are Cookies?

Cookies are information that is sent to your web browser when you click on a link. Your browser stores the information on your hard drive and when you return to the site later, the cookie is sent back to the computer server that originally sent it to you. Cookies provide a way for a computer server to recall a previous request from your web browser. Thomaston Savings Bank does not use or monitor any information received through the use of cookies.

 

Online Security

Thomaston Savings Bank is committed to protect the confidentiality of your online information.  When accessing Thomaston Savings Bank online Internet banking services we require customers to use a 128-bit browser. Thomaston Savings Bank uses encryption for its Internet Banking and Loan application request page. Encryption is an advanced way of scrambling your online information before it leaves your PC.

 

When you request information through Internet banking, your request is encrypted as it travels. The bank then decodes your request for information and sends it back encrypted. Your browser then decodes the information. We also have Firewalls in place, which is advanced hardware and software that reviews messages coming in and out of the Internet banking process. Only authorized users are able to pass through the online banking system. This type of technology is designed to prevent hackers from accessing your account.

 

Thomaston Savings Bank also has a Verisign certificate for its Loan application request page. Verisign is a certification authority on the Internet. This means that the Loan application request page and all information contained within the page are encrypted while being transmitted to your browser and when information is returned to the host web server and prevents anyone from reading the information over the Internet.

 

Your Responsibility

The use of User Names, Access ID's and Passwords for online Internet banking is for your protection. Please use care when accessing the Internet and releasing private information.

Never reveal your User Name, Access ID's or Password to anyone. Notify us immediately if the secrecy of your User Name, Access ID's or Password is compromised.

  • Be sure to use the exit button or log off when logging out of Internet Banking.

  • Don’t leave your PC while you are logged on to Internet Banking.

  • Transmissions through general public E-mail may not be secure. To send or request sensitive account information please use the contact us link on our website.

(TMS), our servicing subsidiary and Thomaston Financial Services, Inc. (TFS) our retail non-deposit investment products subsidiary. The information we may share with affiliates includes information about your transactions or experiences with one of our companies (for example, loan balances). This type of information is called "experience information".


Sharing your "non-experience information" with our affiliates.
  Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) you must "opt-out" if you do not wish us to share "non-experience information" such as information obtained from outside sources (for example a credit score or you account balance at another institution) and not from experience or transactions that you have had with the Bank , Thomaston Mortgages Services, Inc. or Thomaston Financial Services, Inc.

 

Sharing "non-experience information" with our affiliates opt-out. In the event that you do not want our affiliated companies to share your "non-experience information" with each other (Thomaston Savings Bank, Thomaston Mortgage Services, Inc. and Thomason Financial Services, Inc.) you may elect to opt-out of this  sharing arrangement by giving notice of your decision in writing to Thomaston Savings Bank, P.O. Box 907, Thomaston, CT 06787. Attention: Vice President/Operations or by calling Thomaston Savings Bank at (860) 283-1874 and asking for the Vice President/Operations (you may call collect if this is a toll call).


Please note that your election to opt-out of this sharing arrangement between Thomaston Savings Bank and Thomaston Mortgage Services, Inc. and Thomaston Financial Services, Inc. will not prohibit or restrict the Bank and the two affiliates from sharing information about you as may otherwise be permitted or required by applicable law.

 

We do not sell our consumer, current customer or former customer information lists to non-affiliated third parties for marketing, solicitation or similar purposes.

 

SAFEGUARDING CONSUMER, CURRENT CUSTOMER AND FORMER CUSTOMER INFORMATION. OUR SECURITY MEASURES HELP PROTECT YOU.  At Thomaston Savings Bank we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards  that comply with Federal regulations to protect your nonpublic personal information. We have appropriate security measures to guard against unauthorized access to consumer, current customer and former customer information.  As a general rule, access within the bank to consumer, current customer and former customer information is limited to persons with a legitimate business or legal reason to know.
