Strengthening Our Local Community

We created the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation in 1997 to distribute funds annually to local religious, charitable, health, public safety, arts, and educational programs in the communities the Foundation serves.

The funds are to benefit the citizens of the Thomaston Savings Bank assessment areas (currently 14 local towns known as our community). The Bank's establishment of this Foundation ensures the community that local charitable needs can be continually met well into the future.

If you think your organization can benefit from a grant, we invite you to apply during our 2019 grant application period, with grants awarded in October. The online application is now available and must be completed in full and submitted by June 30, 2019 in order to be considered for a grant — the funds you apply for must be used to benefit residents of one or more of the following towns or defined areas:

  • Bristol
  • Bethlehem
  • Burlington
  • Harwinton
  • Litchfield/Northfield/Bantam
  • Middlebury
  • Morris
  • Plymouth/Terryville
  • Thomaston
  • Torrington
