NVCC Manufacturing Scholarship Recipient Selected

Every year, The Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation awards Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) with a grant to be used as a scholarship for a student of their Advance Manufacturing Program.
This year’s recipient of the $2,500 scholarship is Carlos Novicky. “Carlos Novicky is a most deserving recipient of the award. He began classes with us in January of 2020 and struggled when we had to pivot to all online. This fall he returned into our hybrid model, a combination of online and on campus courses, and was highly successful; he was also selected as a top 10 student in our Campus CEO Initiative Award to be presented on January 11th.” Said Diedre D’Amore, Enrollment/Retention Specialist for the School’s Advanced Manufacturing Program.
Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee based on their needs, experiences and interests outlined in their application and essay as well as recommendations from NVCC’s manufacturing instructors.
