Thomaston Savings Bank Recognized by the American Bankers Association Foundation for Volunteerism

Thomaston Savings Bank is delighted to have received an Honorable Mention for their volunteerism in the 2019 American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation’s Community Commitment Awards. These awards recognize banks for their corporate social responsibility efforts in categories ranging from affordable housing to economic inclusion throughout the United States.

The selection committee, made up of independent, national experts in each category, reviewed bank nominations from across the country and chose winners based on their creativity and thoughtfulness of the bank program. The ABA Foundation states that banks recognized must embody the ideals of corporate social responsibility and demonstrate success in measureable terms.

Thomaston Savings Bank has been committed to the community since its inception in 1874.  The Bank’s philanthropic tidings are propelled through its employees, Corporators, and Board members and their ongoing commitment to giving back. In 2018 Bank employees volunteered over 4,550 hours with hundreds of area organizations. The Bank is continually supportive of enabling all of its employees to take time away from work to volunteer with organizations who serve our neighbors in need in countless capacities.

On any given day, Bank employees can be found constructing homes, serving meals to the hungry, collecting blankets, landscaping, mentoring, running in 5K fundraisers or ringing the bells at kettle drives just to name a few volunteer activities. The word no is not in their vocabulary.
