On March 26th, Stephen Lewis, President & CEO, and Mark Graveline, VP, Senior Commercial Lender, joined Bob Burns, Mattatuck Museum Director, in breaking ground for the Mattatuck Museum’s renovation and addition project.
Thomaston Savings Bank is providing a construction-to-permanent mortgage to partially finance renovations to 6,952 sq. ft. of the main Mattatuck Museum building and construction of a 6,782 sq. ft. addition to the Museum located at 160 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT. The Museum property is allocated in the Hillside Historic District of Waterbury which is just north of downtown and south of the Overlook district. The neighborhood largely developed between 1840 and 1920 continuing the trend of the industrial revolution in Waterbury. The building contains 45,810 SF of gross building area used as: galleries for display of artwork, kitchen and cafe (first and second floors), storage spaces, additional gallery spaces and a large live performance auditorium.
