Thomaston Savings Bank Donates over 120 Bags to the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project

Thomaston Savings Bank donated over 120 bags to the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project to be given to the local homeless population. Employees from different departments and branches came together to purchase supplies and assemble Brian Bags. These bags contain basic necessities including a toothbrush, deodorant, socks, a bottle of water and various food items.

One of the Bank’s employee volunteers, Dawn Mendez, Mortgage Processor, said, “It means a lot to be able to give back to the community. Organizations like the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project show kindness to those who need assistance and they show there are good people out there willing to offer their time and resources.”

The Brian O’Connell Homeless Project is an organization that collects donations to aid in providing the homeless with food and other basic necessities. Donations are used for two main goals; providing Brian Bags and building mobile showers. Brian Bags typically contain a first aid kit, food and other items to help with well-being. Mobile showers are built to encourage and improve hygiene and conditions for those who are facing troubled times. Donna Finneran, Founder of the project, works with her team and community volunteers to gather supplies, assemble and distribute Brian Bags throughout the community. For more information go to
