American Business Media, publisher of Banking New England and Centerpoint magazines, has selected 18 community banks and credit unions from across New England to honor as Credit Union Heroes and Community Bank Heroes for their creation of unique community partnerships and going beyond the call to aid their communities in a special time of need.

Credit unions and community banks were chosen in categories based on their asset sizes: less than $500 million, $500 million to $1.5 billion, and more than $1.5 billion. Thomaston Savings Bank was honored to not only win the gold in overall philanthropy of community banks in the $500M - $1.5B asset size but to be selected as the overall “Best in Show” for community banks.
