Thomaston Savings Bank Awards Grant to Quilts that Care
Thomaston Savings Bank recently awarded a grant to Quilts that Care to assist in funding necessary supplies and equipment. Quilts that Care is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, whose mission is to wrap cancer patients and their families in comfort and hope, one quilt at a time.
“We are proud to support such a wonderful organization in their mission of providing comfort and hope to cancer patients.” – Stephen Lewis, President & CEO, Thomaston Savings Bank
Quilts that Care was founded in 2012 by Deborah Van Steenbergen and a handful of friends. Together they have provided more than 5,700 hand-made quilts to cancer patients across the state. The organization has a dedicated group of more than 65 volunteers who craft the quilts and then are distributed through partnerships with 17 facilities devoted to cancer care.
