Thomaston Savings Bank recently donated a grant to the East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department (EFVFD) to fund the purchase of two automated external defibrillators (AED). These devices are utilized to help when someone is experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

“We are thrilled to support the East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department in their purchasing of life saving equipment. Thank you for all you do for our community!” – Stephen Lewis, President & CEO, Thomaston Savings Bank

The EFVFD was founded in 1944 to prevent fires and protect life and property from loss and damage by fire and other emergencies within the Town of Farmington. The department also participates in the Hartford County Mutual Aid Plan. The department hosts a variety of benefits in support of their work including an Annual Pancake Breakfast and Annual Easter Plant Sale. For more information go to effd.org.

"We are grateful for Thomaston Savings Bank’s donation which enabled us to finish putting AED's on all of our apparatus. The defibrillators will benefit both the residents we serve and the firefighters who respond." – Chief David Czlapinski, East Farmington Volunteer Fire Department
