Thomaston Savings Bank has partnered with Waterbury Promise to provide job shadow opportunities to local students. The Bank recently hosted three students from Naugatuck Valley Community College for a day with banking professionals learning more about the banking industry and their desired fields of study.

The Bank is delighted to offer job shadowing opportunities to local students. This is a great introduction to the workforce and provides a glimpse into the work of a community banker.”  – Stephen Lewis, President & CEO, Thomaston Savings Bank

Through this partnership, Waterbury students have the opportunity to learn more about the industry by shadowing Bank employees in areas of interest including HR, Finance, Marketing and Operations. Bank employees encouraged student’s interests by sharing their day-to-day roles, insight and experience as well as answering questions about their position at the Bank and the path that led them there.

“Thomaston Savings Bank provided direct access to career readiness opportunities for Waterbury Promise Scholars. Scholars enjoyed learning about the banking industry and saw first-hand potential career paths, giving them hope and a vision for their future. Thomaston Savings Bank understands how important this is for our future leaders and promotes curiosity as they begin exploring internships and career possibilities. We are thrilled to collaborate, foster new experiences, and create belonging for our Scholars here in Waterbury.” – Kelonda Maull, Executive Director, Waterbury Promise
