“It is with immense gratitude and pride that we accept this prestigious award. This recognition is a testament to the unwavering passion of our employees, who continuously strive to make our community a better, brighter place. I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s steadfast dedication to creating positive change.” – Stephen L. Lewis, President & CEO

Thomaston Savings Bank is a proud supporter of the United Way, raising over $55,000 during their most recent Annual Workplace Campaign. The Bank’s employees regularly participate in the United Way Reads initiative, the annual Stock the Pantry food drive, and the CT Foodshare Mobile Pantry. This past year the Bank partnered with the United Way to create and distribute birthday boxes in honor of the Bank’s 150th anniversary. Through these campaigns, employee volunteers further their connections to the United Way and the community.

“We are honored to be recognized by the United Way for our campaign results and ongoing culture of volunteerism. The United Way’s unique ability to identify key issues and mobilize the resources needed to tackle them is a powerful force in strengthening our community. We’re incredibly proud of our employees who continue to step up year after year to support those who need it most.” – Cheryl Lindstrom, Vice President, Community Outreach Officer

The James C. Smith Spirit of Excellence Award was created to honor retired Webster Bank CEO James C. Smith for his outstanding support and inspirational leadership, both personally and professionally, to the United Way. This award is granted annually to a company that completes a well-organized effective United Way campaign that yields positive impact for the community.
