Thomaston Savings Bank employee Tony Sanchez, VP, Secondary Market and Loan Processing Manager, was named one of the New Leaders in Banking by the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA). He was recognized during a special reception at BankWorld 2025, held at Foxwoods Resort Casino on October 9th.

Bankers throughout the state nominate individuals they believe to be an outstanding employee, manager or business leader who is making a notable impact within their bank and community. The CBA receives numerous nominations that are vetted by an independent panel of judges, none of whom are active bankers. After review, the panel selected fifteen individuals as this year’s “New Leaders in Banking.”

Congratulations to Tony on being honored as a New Leader in Banking! Tony’s commitment to expanding access to financial services, especially for underserved communities, demonstrates the kind of forward-thinking leadership that our industry needs. This award reflects not only Tony’s professional excellence but also his passion for making banking more inclusive and equitable. Well deserved!” – John Scarritt, SVP, Chief Credit Officer, Thomaston Savings Bank

Tony joined the Bank in 2016 as a Secondary Market Analyst. With over 27 years of experience, Tony is equipped with an advanced knowledge of mortgages to assist clients in reaching their financial goals. His passion for service is rooted in his upbringing—born in Puerto Rico, raised in Brooklyn, and shaped by his years in Bridgeport, CT. He now resides in Middlebury with his girlfriend and two daughters.
